Solvang

This was the last stop on our vacation last summer! Solvang is the cutest little town. We had tons of fun in Solvang, and can't wait to go back!!

We had lots of fun exploring the town on these bikes.

Alis worked here a couple of summer's, when her uncle owned the place!
I just thought this was funny!

Old Santa Barbara Mission

In June we went to California for a family reunion. After a very long day in the car we ended up staying at a hotel in Santa Barbara. The next day we met at the Old Mission in Santa Barbara.
The Santa Barbara Mission was established on the Feast of Saint Barbara, December 4, 1786 and was the tenth of twenty-one California Missions to be founded by the Spanish Franciscans.
.The Mission's commanding position and grand proportions, graceful lines and soft, blending colors all reinforce her title, "Queen of the Missions."

Best in the Desert Off-Road Race

At the end of April we went to watch a 300-mile off-road race in Panaca. We met up, at my parents house, with a bunch of my family  to watch motorcycles, quads, side-by-sides, dune buggies and trucks go racing by. We watched at the halfway point and had a fun time despite some cold wind.  We had a cookout after the race and celebrated all of the May birthdays in attendance with a yummy carrot cake.

Women's Conference 2011!

This year I was lucky enough to go to women's conference with some amazing people. There were so many classes to choose from it was so hard to pick. It is amazing how the Lord guides us to the classes that we need. I learned so much and had a great time. Here is a picture of my amazing mother-in-law and sister-in-law Kirsten. Thanks for inviting me Kirsten!

This picture makes me happy. This is one of my Best Friends from school. I met Rachel Harper when she moved to Panaca in 2ND grade. Oh the stories we could tell!!! We have been friends ever since. We don't get together or talk as much as we would like so we were both pleasantly surprised when we were both going to be at Conference. We got lots of time to catch up and even though it had been 5 years since we last saw each other and many months since talking we fell right back in place. Rachel is an amazing person. She has been through so much this past year and she keeps on smiling. She has always been an example to me!

I was very excited to get to meet Hilary Weeks. I was amazed at how she took time out to talk to every single person that was in line for her to sign their new book. Her new book Bedtime and Naptime... is a very fun read. It reminds us all to enjoy motherhood and life!

This last picture is with one of my good friends Ashley Bown. I was excited to get to talk with her for the few minutes that we had. I have missed her since her big move to Northern Utah.

Ellie's Birthday

Ellie turned 6 back in March. We are so far behind. Ellie is such a fun kid to raise. She LOVES school and reading.  Here are some pictures from her birthday. They may have a pink tint to them because our camera decided that it liked pink.

Claire's Cake!

This year Claire did not get her train cake on her birthday! Adam was in Idaho and then life got crazy. So Claire did not get her train cake for her 2nd birthday until January! Claire is so animated in pictures. I just love the faces that she makes. She really liked her cake because she loves CHOCOLATE.

St. George Temple Visitors Center

For Family Home Evening one Monday in January we went to the visitor's center in St. George. My girls love it when we take them here. We were there on the last day that they were showing Christmas Video's. I think that the highlight from this day was watching the video's that they could choose and walking around the Temple grounds.

Evie's Funeral

All of the Petersen siblings were able to make it for Evie's funeral. This was the first time in years that all of them have been together. It was great being able to see everybody. I just wish that it was for a happy occasion. Here are some picture's:
